UM, SO THIS WRAPS UP OUR YEAR FOR, UH, ALL OF OUR ATTENDANCE AWARDS.

AND, UH, YOU KNOW, IT, WE DO KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IT IS FOR OUR STUDENTS TO BE IN SCHOOL ON A DAILY BASIS, UH, JUST MISSING A FEW DAYS HERE AND THERE ADDS UP QUICKLY AND MISSING CONTENT, UM, AND, AND BEING IN FRONT OF THAT TEACHER.

AND SO SCHOOLS HAVE WORKED REALLY, REALLY HARD ON THIS.

AND, AND I DO WANT TO RECOGNIZE THREE SCHOOLS TONIGHT, UH, FOR THE END OF THIS YEAR, UM, WITH OUR ATTENDANCE AWARDS.

AND ONE SCHOOL I DO WANNA RECOGNIZE SPECIFICALLY, AND I'M GONNA RECOGNIZE THEM FIRST TONIGHT.

UM, AND, AND THIS SCHOOL HAS WON THE ATTENDANCE FLAG FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS EVERY SINGLE MONTH THIS YEAR.

UH, THIS SCHOOL HAS ALSO NEVER HAD AN ATTENDANCE RATE BELOW 90%.

UH, I THINK ACTUALLY THIS MONTH IS PROBABLY THEIR LOWEST AT 90.39%.

AND SO I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE WARREN COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL YEAR, UM, OF, OF ATTENDANCE FOR OUR STUDENTS, UH, FOR A JOB THAT THEY'RE DOING TO, TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL ON A DAILY BASIS.

AND RECOGNIZE DR.

CHRIS JOHNSTON FOR HIS EFFORTS THAT, THAT HE HAS DONE THIS YEAR FOR WARREN COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL.

BALLINGER ASKED ME WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY AND I TOLD HIM I RAN OUTTA THINGS TO SAY ABOUT ATTENDANCE LAST YEAR, .

SO OTHER THAN THANK YOU, I DEFINITELY APPRECIATION TO OUR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES WHO ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO COME TO SCHOOL, UH, AS OFTEN AS THEY CAN.

AND I DEFINITELY APPRECIATE THAT.

ALSO, TONIGHT, I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE OUR ELEMENTARY AWARD, AND THIS IS THEIR SECOND TIME THAT THEY'VE WON THE ELEMENTARY AWARD, UH, THE THIRD AWARD, UH, AS FAR AS IN A ROW, THEY DID WIN THE, UM, THE MOST IMPROVED BACK IN MARCH.

BUT I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE HILDA J BARBER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS THE ELEMENTARY WINNER FOR, UM, THE MONTH OF MAY.

WELL, THIS WAS A NICE SURPRISE.

I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS, BUT THE END OF THE YEAR, ESPECIALLY THE LAST MONTH, IS ALWAYS A HARD TIME TO GET ANYBODY TO WANT TO COME TO SCHOOL.

AND SO THE FACT THAT OUR STAFF WORKED SO HARD, WHICH I THINK EVERY STAFF, EVERY SCHOOL DID TO MAKE THE KIDS WANT TO BE THERE, MAKING IT SO THAT THEY DIDN'T WANNA MISS, THAT JUST TALKS, SPEAKS VOLUMES FOR ALL OF THEM.

AND IN MY OPINION, I THINK THE FACT THAT ANYBODY SHOWED UP TO SCHOOL, ALL THESE SCHOOLS DESERVE THIS AWARD RIGHT NOW.

BUT, UM, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

WE APPRECIATE IT.

AND NOW FOR OUR MOST IMPROVED FOR THE MONTH OF MAY, I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE, I BELIEVE THIS IS THEIR THIRD TIME COMING IN THIS YEAR, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE LFK AS OUR MOST IMPROVED FOR THE MONTH OF MAY.

I BROUGHT A LITTLE CAT WITH ME.

HE, THIS IS CONNOR JONES AND HE MISSED LESS THAN FIVE DAYS THIS YEAR.

HE'S WORKED REALLY HARD TO BE AT SCHOOL, AS HAVE MANY OF OUR LITTLE CATS, AND WE WERE VERY EXCITED TO RECEIVE THE MOST IMPROVED ATTENDANCE, UM, AWARD FOR THE MONTH OF MAY.

UM, IT'S BEEN A LITTLE WHILE SINCE WE'VE BEEN HERE, SO WE ARE VERY, UM, HONORED TO HAVE REACHED THAT, YOU KNOW, THAT GOAL.

UM, THE END OF THE YEAR WAS A LOT OF FUN AND OUR STUDENTS WERE THERE.

BUT I ALSO HAVE TO SAY THAT OUR ATTENDANCE RATE FOR TESTING WAS REALLY GOOD.

I DID VERY FEW MAKEUP TESTS FOR KIDS WHO DIDN'T SHOW UP ON THEIR TEST DATE.

AND I APPRECIATE THAT.

AND I'M WANNA SAY THANKS TO THE FAMILIES AND TO THE STUDENTS WHO WERE AT SCHOOL EVERY DAY READY TO DO WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO.

OUR HEALTH AND MEDICAL SCIENCE TEACHER WAS UNEXPECTEDLY OUT FOR THE FORESEEABLE FU FUTURE AND A FORMER HISTORY TEACHER WITH ZERO KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHCARE AND PARENTES.

MR. GREG WAS THE PERSON PLANNING AND PROVIDING LESSON MATERIAL FOR OUR STUDENTS UNTIL A QUALIFIED SUBSTITUTE TEACHER COULD BE FOUND.

THANKFULLY MARY, MARY SOON STEPPED INTO OUR SCHOOL AND COMPLETELY SAVED

MARY WALKED INTO HER NEW CLASSROOM LIKE SHE OWNED IT FROM DAY ONE, SETTING CLEAR EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS AND DEVELOPING INTERESTING LESSONS.

SHE BROUGHT HER OWN PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE TO THE TABLE AND QUICKLY GOT TO WORK TEACHING AND GETTING TO KNOW HER STUDENTS.

IF YOU'VE EVER MANAGED A CLASSROOM OF 20 PLUS TEENAGERS, THERE IS A MOMENT ON YOUR VERY FIRST MORNING OF TEACHING WHEN YOU HEAR THE BELL RING AND STUDENTS SHUFFLING DOWN THE HALL TOWARD YOUR CLASSROOM.

FOR MANY, THIS IS A MOMENT OF FIGHT OR FLIGHT WHERE YOU WONDER THE FOLLOWING, CAN I HANDLE THIS? AM I THE IN THE RIGHT PLACE? IF MARY FELT A HINT OF THIS PANIC, SHE CERTAINLY NEVER SHOWED IT.

INSTEAD, MARY CONSISTENTLY CONDUCTED HERSELF WITH GRACE AND PROFESSIONALISM OF A VETERAN TEACHER.

SHE REACHED OUT FOR ASSISTANCE WHEN NEEDED, WHICH WAS NOT VERY OFTEN, AND SHARED CONCERNS ABOUT STUDENTS SO WE COULD REACH OUT TO THEIR FAMILIES.

MARY, THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR BRTC AND OUR STUDENTS WHEN WE NEEDED IT THE MOST.

I KNOW YOU'RE PLANNING TO ENTER A TEACHING PREP PROGRAM TO OBTAIN YOUR LICENSE, BUT KEEP IN MIND YOU STAND HERE TODAY AS A FINE TEACHER ALREADY.

I HAVE NO DOUBT YOU WILL FIND NOTHING BUT SUCCESS IN YOUR FUTURE AND CONTINUE TO HAVE POSITIVE IMPACTS ON YOUR STUDENTS.

MY NAME IS SARAH JONES AND I'M CURRENTLY RUNNING FOR THE HAPPY CREEK SCHOOL BOARD SEAT AS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF WARREN COUNTY, A GRADUATE OF WARREN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, AND A PROUD PARENT OF TWO WARREN PUBLIC WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS STUDENTS.

I HOPE TO CONTINUE THE STRONG LEGACY OF THE HAPPY CREEK SCHOOL BOARD SEAT THAT IT CURRENTLY HOLDS.

I AM RUNNING FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD BECAUSE I CARE DEEPLY ABOUT THE CHILDREN OF WARREN COUNTY, THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION THEY RECEIVE, AND THE LONG-TERM PROSPERITY OF OUR COUNTY.

I BELIEVE THAT SUCCESS BEGINS IN OUR CLASSROOMS WHERE WE MUST OFFER EVERY STUDENT THE TOOLS, RESOURCES, AND SUPPORT THEY NEED TO EXCEL.

WHILE WARREN COUNTY FACES SEVERAL CHALLENGES, SUCH AS STAFF RETENTION, BUDGET CONSTRAINTS, LEARNING LOSS DUE TO COVID-19, ATTENDANCE CONCERNS AND TEST SCORE IMPROVEMENT.

I'M INSPIRED BY THE EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS AND STAFF WHO SERVE OUR STUDENTS WITH DEDICATION AND PASSION.

THEY GO ABOVE AND BEYOND EVERY DAY TO NURTURE AND GUIDE THE NEXT GENERATION.

OUR SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS WORK TIRELESSLY TO CREATE SUPPORTIVE AND EFFECTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR ALL STUDENTS.

AS BUDGET DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE, I RESPECTFULLY URGE YOU TO PRIORITIZE RETAINING THE STUDENT SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS.

THESE POSITIONS ARE ESSENTIAL TO FOSTERING ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL GROWTH AMONGST OUR STUDENTS.

THEY PLAY A CRITICAL ROLE IN IMPROVING THE READING SCORES AT ALL LEVELS.

IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON THE SCHOOL BOARD, I WILL PRIORITIZE COLLABORATION WITH TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND PARENTS TO ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES WE FACE AND ENHANCE THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF EVERY STUDENT.

THE SCHOOL BOARD STAYS ENTANGLED AND A SMALL MINORITY TRIES TO CA CAST THEMSELVES AS HEROES.

SWOOPING IN TO SAVE OUR SCHOOL'S BUDGET IS AN EXHAUSTING LIE.

WHERE WAS THE URGENCY MONTHS AGO? WHY HASN'T THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FINALIZED THE SCHOOL BUDGET? WHY ARE OUR EDUCATORS THE FOUNDATION OF THIS COMMUNITY STILL WAITING FOR ANSWERS, STABILITY, AND BASIC RESPECT? THEY ARE TIRED, FRUSTRATED, DEMORALIZED, AND THEY ARE NOT FOOLED.

WE HAVE WATCHED THIS PLAY OUT BEFORE MS. SALE'S VOTE AFTER VOTE.

TO FULLY FUNDING THE BUDGET.

NO.

TO COVERING HEALTH INSURANCE INCREASES NOT BECAUSE YOU WERE SILENT, BUT

BUT YOU HAD NO PROBLEM HOLDING PARKING LOT CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR BUDDY ON THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.

NOW YOU WANNA PLAY FOR THE PART OF RESCUER.

THIS COMMUNITY IS DONE WITH BACKROOM DEALS TO THOSE NOW CALLING FOR UNITY AND COOPERATION.

WHERE IS THAT SPIRIT WHEN THE BUDGET WAS PROPOSED? YOU CANNOT LEAD SCHOOLS AND YOU DON'T SHOW UP THAT YOU DON'T SHOW UP FOR.

YOU CANNOT CLAIM TO SUPPORT EDUCATION WHEN YOUR RECORD SAYS OTHERWISE.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT POLITICS, IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE.

STUDENTS WHO DESERVE RESOURCES.

TEACHERS WHO DESERVE A LIVABLE WAGE.

COMMUNITIES THAT DESERVE FUNCTIONING SERVICES.

INSTEAD, WE GET THE SALE.

AND MCFADDEN SHOW POLITICAL THEATER THAT WASTES TIME AND ERODES TRUST AND MISS SALE.

YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

UH, WE ARE VERY BLESSED TO HAVE IT HERE IN OUR COUNTY, BUT IT SERVES, UH, STUDENTS FROM WARREN, FIVE DIFFERENT COUNTIES.

UM, WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE, THE TENNIS COURT SITUATION, UM, AT BOTH HIGH SCHOOLS AND THE USTA.

THE US TENNIS ASSOCIATION DOES OFFER A, A VARIETY OF GRANTS FOR REPAIR, TOTAL COURT REPLACEMENT.

UM, I THINK WE SHOULD EXPLORE THOSE OPPORTUNITIES THAT I, WE CAN TALK ABOUT THAT MORE IN, UH, OUR NEXT FACILITIES COMMITTEE MEETING.

BUT, UM, I THINK IF WE CAN GET A LONG-TERM PLAN IN PLACE AND GET THE, THE GRANT ASSISTANCE, WE COULD HAVE A GOOD SHOT AT GETTING THOSE TENNIS COURTS REPLACED.

UM, I ALSO HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND A, UM, IT, IT'S CALLED, UH, THIS IS IT, THIS KIND OF PLAY ON THE WORDS OF THIS IS IT, UH, IT'S A, IT'S A WONDERFUL PROGRAM THAT'S PUT ON BY FRANK LEGE, AND IT IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS, HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN WARREN COUNTY.

AND THE REASON I'M TALKING ABOUT IT TONIGHT IS BECAUSE, UH, FRANK WAS EXPLAINING THAT UNFORTUNATELY, WE ONLY HAD FIVE PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED THIS YEAR.

AND IT'S, IT'S TYPICALLY 20 TO 25 KIDS.

THEY GIVE THE KIDS ALL SORTS OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT.

THEY GOT A RASPBERRY PIE, THEY GOT A COMPUTER MONITOR.

THEY GAVE AWAY AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER AND HEADPHONES, AND THEY TAUGHT THEM HOW TO USE AI.

THEY TAUGHT THEM HOW TO DO ALL SORTS OF DIFFERENT IT RELATED THINGS, AND THEN HAD THEM PUT ON A MOCK BUSINESS PRESENTATION AS THEIR CLOSEOUT MEETING.

SO I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT, THAT ALL OF OUR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS KNOW THAT THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE.

IT IS FREE, AND I DO EXPECT FOR THEM TO BE DOING IT AGAIN, OFFERING AGAIN IN THE FALL.

AND I JUST, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS CHECK IT OUT.

UM, ALSO WENT TO END OF THE YEAR AWARDS FOR THE SCHOOLS THAT MY GIRLS ATTEND, UM, WHICH ARE RESI AND SKYLINE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE SKYLINE MIDDLE SCHOOL GATE, UM, SHOWCASE, AND THEN ATTENDED BOTH THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATIONS.

UM, AND JUST ALL OF THOSE EVENTS TAKEN TOGETHER ARE JUST SUCH A NICE WRAP UP OF THE YEAR.

IT'S SO NICE THAT WE ARE ABLE TO KIND OF TAKE STOCK OF THE PROGRESS THAT HAS BEEN MADE OVER THE YEAR, THE LEARNING THAT HAS HAPPENED, UM, AND SEE THE, THE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES SO PROUD, ESPECIALLY AT GRADUATION, BUT REALLY AT ALL OF THESE EVENTS.

UM, IT'S JUST SUCH A NICE TIME OF YEAR TO KIND OF LOOK BACK AND SEE WHAT EVERYONE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR.

UM, I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL COUNSELING WRAP UP MEETING AT SSI WITH MS. FRANKL AND MS. CHARLES AND I ALWAYS LIKE GETTING THEIR BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, SORT OF WHAT THEIR GOALS ARE FOR THE YEAR WITH THE REST E STUDENTS THAT THEY'RE WORKING WITH, AND THEN SORT OF WHERE THEY FINALIZE AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

AND THEY'RE, UM, WORKING HARD STILL.

THEIR MAIN FOCUS IS CONTINUING TO BE ATTENDANCE IN THE SCHOOL AND THEN ALSO JUST TEACHING KIDS AT THAT ELEMENTARY AGE, NOT JUST THE IMPORTANCE OF SHOWING UP TO SCHOOL, BEING ON TIME, BUT ALSO DEVELOPING GOOD STUDY HABITS AND BEHAVIORS AND HELPING THEM REALIZE WHY GETTING A BALANCED MEAL AND WHY GETTING A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP.

AND ALL OF THOSE THINGS ARE IMPACTING THEIR DAY AT SCHOOL.

SO THEY WERE, THEY WERE SHOWING SOME IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE WORK THEY'RE DOING, AND I APPRECIATE HEARING ABOUT THAT.

UM, I ALSO WAS ABLE TO ATTEND, UM, COMMUNITY HELPER DAY AT RESI.

AND SO JUST AGAIN, SEEING MEMBERS FROM OUR COMMUNITY COME FROM THEIR DIFFERENT JOBS AND WATCHING, UM, THE ELEMENTARY KIDS GET EXCITED AND SOME OF THEM ARE DRESSED UP AS POLICE OFFICERS OR FIREFIGHTERS OR WHOEVER THEY HOPED TO SEE THAT DAY.

AND SO THEM JUST GETTING ENGAGED AND AGAIN, LEARNING KIND OF WHY THEY'RE IN SCHOOL IN THE FIRST PLACE AND WHAT THEY MIGHT HOPE TO DO, UH, ONCE THEY GRADUATE, EVEN AT THE KINDERGARTEN LEVEL, I WANTED TO THANK EVERYONE WHO PUT TOGETHER THE HIRING EVENT THAT WE DO FOR SENIORS AT WARREN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, AND ESPECIALLY THANK ALL THE BUSINESSES AND TRADES AND EVERYONE FROM OUR COMMUNITY THAT CAME TO TAKE THE TIME OUT OF THEIR DAY TO SET UP THAT JOB FAIR AND TO BE THERE.

AND, UM, I HAD A LOT OF FEEDBACK THIS YEAR THAT IT WAS

UM, JUST WITH ATTENDANCE FROM THE STUDENTS AND JUST ALSO WITH OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND BUSINESSES THAT CAME AND SET THOSE TABLES UP AND SPOKE TO THE, TO THE KIDS.

UM, OF COURSE, I THINK WE ALL ATTENDED THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR, UM, BANQUET.

AND THAT WAS OF COURSE, WONDERFUL.

AND AGAIN, JUST CELEBRATING ALL OF OUR TEACHERS AND ALL THE WORK THAT THEY DO.

I ATTENDED THE SKYLINE FFA AWARDS BANQUET IN MAY, AND SEEING THOSE KIDS AND JUST ALL THAT THEY'VE DONE, UM, AND ALL OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS.

AND THERE WERE KIDS THAT JUST KEPT GOING UP FOR AWARD AFTER AWARD BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN BASICALLY ALL OVER THE STATE, UM, FOR THE WORK THAT THEY'RE DOING.

AND JUST THE HOW PROUD THEY ARE AND HOW THEY'RE JUST SUCH A GROUP OF KIDS, UM, THAT ARE WORKING SO HARD, NOT JUST ON THEIR ACADEMIC SIDE, BUT ALSO THE THINGS THAT ARE THEIR TRUE INTERESTS AND DEVELOPING WHAT THEY'RE PLANNING ON DOING, UM, IN THE FUTURE.

AND SORT OF WITH SOME OF THOSE SAME KIDS, I ACTUALLY, UM, WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH TWO DIFFERENT, UM, VET SCIENCE CLASSES.

AND SO AGAIN, JUST BEING ABLE TO SEE KIDS THAT ARE SORT OF SHAPING THEIR GOALS IN HIGH SCHOOL TO WHAT THEY'RE GONNA DO AFTERWARDS.

AND SO I THINK THAT JUST SPEAKS AGAIN TO EVERY, EVERY OPPORTUNITY THAT WE HAVE AT BLUE RIDGE TECH.

UM, YOU KNOW, WHETHER I THINK ANYTHING, ANY OF OUR STUDENTS ARE INTERESTED IN, WE HAVE A PROGRAM THAT THEY CAN FIND SOMETHING TO CAPTURE THEM AND BRING THEM INTO SCHOOL.

AND SO I THINK JUST SEEING THOSE TYPES OF THINGS REALLY, UM, THAT'S MEANINGFUL FOR OUR STUDENTS.

I ATTENDED THE GATE SHOWCASE AS WELL, UM, THE ENRICHMENT SHOWCASE AT THE WARREN COUNTY COMMUNITY CENTER.

AND, UM, THE FACT THAT OUR THIRD, FOURTH, AND FIFTH GRADERS ARE DOING PROJECTS THAT HAVE TO HAVE A QR CODE AND GO ONLINE.

I MEAN, IT'S LIKE WAY BEYOND WHAT I EVER DID WHEN I WAS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

AND SO, UM, THEY HAD SOME REALLY DETAILED PROJECTS AND IT WAS REALLY GREAT HEARING THEM AND JUST SEEING HOW PROUD THEY WERE TO SHOW EVERYBODY AND TALK ABOUT THEIR PROJECTS.

AND THEY'D BEEN WORKING ON IT, YOU KNOW, ALL SEMESTER.

UM, SO THEY WERE JUST REALLY PROUD OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS.

AND SO IT WAS GREAT TALKING TO ALL THOSE LITTLE GUYS.

UM, I ATTENDED THE SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AND I MISSED WARREN COUNTY, BUT JUST CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE GRADUATES AND HOPEFULLY EVERYONE'S HAVING A REALLY FUN SUMMER AND GETTING READY FOR WHATEVER THEY'RE GONNA DO NEXT.

AND SO THE FACT THAT THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN IDENTIFIED, THEY KNOW THEY'VE GOTTEN THEIR PAPERWORK, THEY'RE GONNA GET TO GO TO A STORE TO GO SHOPPING FOR THEIR BACK TO SCHOOL, UM, CLOTHES.

THEY'RE, THAT'S JUST SOMETHING THAT HOPEFULLY IF YOU'RE LISTENING AND YOU CAN SUPPORT, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT IS HAVING A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE KIDS IN OUR COUNTY.

AND WE REVIEWED THOSE.

UM, EACH OF THOSE PROPOSALS ALL INDEPENDENTLY WENT THROUGH THOSE AND RANKED THEM.

AND TO LET YOU KNOW, JUST TO KIND OF GIVE YOU THE UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WE LOOKED AT, THERE WERE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES, AND I'M KIND OF GONNA GO THROUGH THOSE.

THE QUALIFICATIONS WAS THE FIRST THING THAT WE LOOKED AT AND IT COUNTED 25%, UM, WHICH MEANT THE EXPERIENCE, UM, OF THE FIRM AND YEARS IN BUSINESS.

THE CORPORATE PHILOSOPHY, THE CORPORATE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCES, STAFF TRAINING AND FINANCIAL STABILITY.

THAT WAS 25%.

THEN THE NEXT 25 PER 20% WAS THE QUALIFICATIONS OF PERSONNELS ASSIGNED TO THIS PROJECT.

THE NEXT 20% WAS THE WARREN COUNTY, UM, PROJECT PLAN.

AND HOW, IN OTHER WORDS, HOW ARE THEY GONNA MAKE IT FIT WARREN COUNTY NOT JUST COME IN AND SAY, HERE, THIS IS WHAT WE'RE DOING.

THEN WE ALSO HAD CLIENT REFERENCES THAT WE CHECKED, AND THEN THE LAST COMPONENT, WHICH WAS ONLY 15%, WAS ON PRICING.

BUT ALL THOSE WE LOOKED AT, WE RANKED.

AND FROM THAT IT WAS NARROWED DOWN TO FOUR.

THERE WAS CLOSE, ALL OF 'EM WERE, UM, THOSE FOUR WERE IN CLOSE, I WOULD SAY COMPETITION, SO TO SPEAK.

AND SO THEN WE ASKED THEM TO COME MAKE A PROPOSAL.

UM, THOSE FOUR, THOSE FOUR CAME AND PRESENTED TO US ON MAY THE SECOND.

AND FROM THAT, THE COMMITTEE MADE THEIR FINAL DECISION.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I DO, UM, WANT TO LET YOU KNOW IS THAT, UM, AS A PART OF THE PROPOSAL, THERE WAS TWO OPTIONS.

AND, UM, THEY, UM, THE COMPANY THAT WE ARE RECOMMENDING WENT WITH OPTION ONE, WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THAT OUR CURRENT EMPLOYEES, THEY ARE THERE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.

IT'S NOT LIKE THEY'RE GONNA COME IN AND REMOVE EVERYBODY AND THEN START TO REHIRE.

THEY ARE GOING TO ALLOW THOSE, OUR CURRENT EMPLOYEES, IF THEY WANNA STAY WITH THE COMPANY, THEY CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH THE COMPANY AND WITH THE BENEFITS AND ALSO WITH THE CURRENT SALARY THAT THEY'RE AT, THEY'RE NOT COMING IN AND CUTTING SALARIES.

SO, UM, BASED ON ALL THIS INFORMATION, THE COMMITTEE MADE THE FINAL DECISION AND THE COMMITTEE, UM, DECISION WAS TO GO WITH THE HES FACILITIES MANAGEMENT.

UM, AND THAT'S WHAT WE BRING FORTH.

UM, THE SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED OUR BUDGET ON MARCH 5TH.

OUR INCREASED LOCAL ASK, UM, WAS $4.2 MILLION OVER THE FY 25 YEAR.

WE MET WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ON MARCH 25TH, UM, PROVIDED OUR FULL BUDGET PRESENTATION TO THEM AND WE WERE AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS AT THAT TIME.

UM, I'VE SAID IT BEFORE, AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN.

I THINK EVERYBODY FROM EACH DEPARTMENT IN OUR SCHOOL DIVISION THAT PRESENTED THAT NIGHT DID A GREAT JOB OF WALKING THROUGH EACH OF THE ASKS WHY WE FELT LIKE THE ASK THAT WE WERE PRESENTING TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SHOWED TRUE NEEDS TO OUR SCHOOLS, TO OUR TEACHERS, AND TO OUR STUDENTS.

UM, I THINK THAT THAT ALL WENT, THAT PRESENTATION WAS GREAT.

UM, AS FAR AS THE PAST, YOU KNOW, SIX YEARS THAT I'VE SAT THROUGH BUS BUDGET PRESENTATIONS, UM, THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF FOLLOW-UP CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN THE BUDGET JOINT SUBCOMMITTEE BETWEEN OUR SIDE AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.

WE'VE HAD SOME NUMBERS SORT OF THROWN AROUND, UM, BUT WE AS A BOARD HAVEN'T DISCUSSED IT AGAIN UNTIL OUR WORK SESSION JUST LAST WEEK.

UM, HONESTLY, I KIND OF LEFT THAT MEETING, UM, SORT OF THINKING, OKAY, WE CAN HAVE A, YOU KNOW, A DISCUSSION.

WE'VE SEEN THE $750,000 NUMBER THAT'S BEEN PUT UP, UM, FOR WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS BY THE COUNTY.

IT'S BEEN DISCUSSED AT THEIR WORK SESSION.

IT'S BEEN PRESENTED OUT.

UM, I KNOW THAT MS. DRAKE ALREADY PUT INTO OUR CONTRACTS OR, OR LET OUR STAFF KNOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO RETURN THEIR CONTRACTS UNTIL JUNE 13TH.

'CAUSE WE WERE ALL KIND OF COUNTING ON KNOWING AN ANSWER AND HAVING OUR BUDGET APPROVED AND THEN OUR STAFF KNOWING THAT THEY COULD SIGN THEIR CONTRACTS AND IT WOULD COME BACK JUNE 13TH AND WE'D ALL JUST MOVE ALONG.

BUT, UM, IT SOUNDS LIKE THE COUNTY IS NOT ACTUALLY VOTING TO APPROVE THEIR BUDGET UNTIL JUNE 24TH.

SO, UM, THAT KIND OF ADDED ANOTHER LAYER OF ROLLERCOASTER TO THIS BUDGET SEASON AND SORT OF DEFLATED ALL OF THAT A LITTLE BIT.

UM, BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE IN A SPOT NOW WHERE I THINK WE CAN STILL HAVE THAT DISCUSSION TONIGHT AND THAT'S GREAT THAT WE'LL DO THAT.

UM, BUT REALISTICALLY, WE, WE HAVE PEOPLE WAITING TO SIGN THEIR CONTRACTS TO KNOW, ARE THEY STAYING WITH WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEXT YEAR OR ARE THEY GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE? AND AT SOME POINT THEY'RE GONNA SAY, WELL, THIS, THIS OTHER SCHOOL DIVISION IS READY TO TAKE MY CONTRACT NOW AND THEY'RE READY TO GUARANTEE ME WHAT I'M GONNA GET.

SO I THINK THE THINGS THAT I KNOW AND EVERYBODY ELSE CAN SAY, THE THINGS THEY KNOW, BUT THE THINGS I KNOW IS WITH THE $750,000 THAT ALLOWS US TO DO THE 10.2% INSURANCE INCREASE SPLIT BETWEEN US AND OUR EMPLOYEES, THAT WAS WHAT WE HAD IN OUR ORIGINAL BUDGET, OUR CURRENT APPROVED BUDGET.

UM, I THINK IN TALKING WITH MS. DRAKE AND, UM, DR.

BALLINGER, EVEN MR. VALENTINE, IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT, YOU KNOW, WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO OUR EMPLOYEES.

THEY SEEMED HAPPY WITH THAT.

I THINK THINGS THAT WE'RE, MY OPINION, THINGS THAT WE'RE LACKING, UM, STILL ARE GONNA BE, WE'RE HOLDING OUR NON-LABOR BUDGETS FOR THE SCHOOL THE SAME, WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THAT AT LENGTH.

I THINK THAT'S ABOUT AN $80,000, UM, NUMBER THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT.

I THINK THAT, YOU KNOW, WE KNOW THE COST OF EVERY SINGLE THING HAS GONE UP AND SO JUST, YOU KNOW, SCHOOL ARE HAVING FUNDRAISERS, WE'RE BEGGING PARENTS TO SEND IN PAPER AND PENCILS AND PENS AND YOU KNOW, EVEN JUST THAT LITTLE BIT FOR EACH OF THE SCHOOLS I THINK WOULD GO A LONG WAY.

AND THEN OF COURSE THERE ARE THE POSITIONS THAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT AT LENGTH, THE STUDENT SUPPORT COACHES AND READING INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS.

AND I THINK THOSE ARE IMPORTANT.

SO I THINK FOR ME IT WOULD BE, UM, MY PRIORITIES WOULD BE KIND OF SEEING WHAT POSITIONS DO WE THINK WE COULD AGREE ON IN ADDING IN AND WHAT OTHER NUMBERS.

UM, IT IS AN EXPENSE FOR THE SCHOOLS, BUT THEY PAY IT AND IT DOESN'T FLOW THROUGH OUR BUDGET EXCEPT FOR ONE BOND.

AND THAT WAS THIS ENERGY, UM, CONSERVATION BOND THAT WAS ISSUED BACK IN, I THINK EARLY 2016.

AND IT PAID FOR, UM, A COMPANY TO COME IN AND DO A COMPLETE, UH, ENERGY AUDIT AND INSTALL LIGHTING, UM, TOILET FIXTURES, THINGS THAT WOULD SAVE US, UM, EITHER ENERGY OR UTILITIES TO THE POINT THAT THEY PUT IN WELLS TO IRRIGATE OUR FIELDS.

AND EVEN I THINK TO, UH, RUN SOME OF OUR

CHILLERS AND THINGS LIKE THAT TO CUT OUR WATER USAGE DOWN.

AS PART OF THAT, UM, AGREEMENT, THEY GUARANTEED THAT WE WOULD RECEIVE ENOUGH SAVINGS IN UTILITY TO PAY FOR THAT BOND LESS, BUT WITH ALSO A TAX CREDIT THAT WE WOULD RECEIVE.

NOW WE DON'T PAY TAXES, SO IT'S SOMEONE BUYS THAT TAX CREDIT AND THEN THE MONEY FLOWS BACK THROUGH US.

SO WE'VE BEEN DOING THAT.

THAT TAX CREDIT COMES OUT TO ABOUT 200,000 A YEAR.

THE BOND PAYMENT RIGHT NEXT YEAR WILL BE 666,000.

SO THAT'S WHERE THE 4 67 IS ACTUAL MONEY THAT HAS TO COME OUTTA SOMEONE'S BUDGET TO COVER THIS.

SO EARLY IN THE BUDGET PROCESS, I WAS APPROACHED BY THE COUNTY AND SAID, WE'D LIKE TO MOVE THAT FROM YOUR BUDGET TO OUR BUDGET SO THAT WE PAY IT.

AND BASICALLY THEY'LL BE PAYING ALL OF OURS.

SO WHEN WE DEVELOPED OUR BUDGET, UM, AND I HOPE WE WERE CLEAR ABOUT IT, WE TRIED TO BE, UM, FIRST OF ALL, WE TOOK OUT THE 200,000 ROUGHLY REVENUE THAT WE HAD SHOWN EVERY YEAR SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE BUDGET.

WE TOOK THAT OUT BECAUSE WE SHOULDN'T RECEIVE THAT.

THE COUNTY SHOULD RECEIVE IT THERE.

THEY'RE PAYING OUR BOND PAYMENT FOR US.

ON THE EXPENDITURE SIDE, WE TOOK OUT THE 666,000 IN BOND PAYMENTS THAT WE SHOWED AS AN EXPENDITURE.

SO WHEN WE DID THAT, THAT IN ESSENCE REDUCED WHAT WE WOULD'VE ASKED THE COUNTY FOR.

IF EVERYTHING ELSE STAYED THE SAME BY $467,000, THEY, THEY WOULD'VE SAVED IT ON OUR SIDE, BUT THEY TOOK IT ON THEIRS.

SO ONE MIGHT SAY, WELL, HOW IS THAT REFLECTED IN THE 4.2 MILLION INCREASE? WHAT WE DO IS WE TAKE ALL OF OUR EXPENSES AND, UM, FOR NEXT YEAR PROJECTED, AND THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THAT BOND PAYMENT.

SO WE TOOK ALL THE PROJECTED EXPENSES FOR NEXT YEAR, AND THEN WE TAKE ALL THE OTHER REVENUE SOURCES WE HAVE OTHER THAN THE COUNTY APPROPRIATION.

WHEN YOU ADD THOSE UP, THEY'RE LESS OBVIOUSLY THAN WHAT OUR TOTAL EXPENDITURES ARE.

THOSE EXPENDITURES, AGAIN, NOT INCLUDING THAT BOND PAYMENT, IT'S GONE.

AND WHEN YOU COME UP WITH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THAT, THAT WOULD BE WHAT THE LOCAL APPROPRIATION IS.

AND IT TURNS OUT THAT IT'S THAT $4.2 MILLION THAT'S BEEN, UH, TALKED ABOUT, UM, PREVIOUSLY IS AS FAR AS THE AMOUNT OF OUR INCREASE.

SO, UM, YES, THE COUNTY IS PICKING UP THAT 400 AND SOME NET EXPENSE.

UM, AND YES, THE SCHOOL BOARD DID RECOGNIZE THAT IN THEIR BUDGET REMOVING IT, BUT EVEN WITH IT REMOVED, UM, THE INCREASED REQUIREMENT FROM THE COUNTY TO MATCH ALL THOSE OTHER EXPENSES, EXCLUDING THAT ONE IS THE 4.2 MILLION.

HAD WE LEFT THAT IN THERE, THAT WOULD'VE BEEN DECEPTIVE.

WE SHOULDN'T LEAVE THAT IN THERE BECAUSE WE WEREN'T ANTICIPATING PAYING IT.

IF WE HAD, THAT WOULD'VE BUMPED THE INCREASE FROM 4.2 TO ALMOST 4.5 MILLION.

SO TO JUST CLARIFY, OH, 4.6, RIGHT? WE, WE WON'T GET TO FACTOR IN THIS, THIS, UH, $467,000 WE'RE, WE'RE NOT GONNA GET TO PLAY WITH THAT MONEY.

AND SO PEOPLE WOULD PUT IN REQUESTS FOR THAT, LIKE WHAT WE CALL IT A SIC BANK, BUT HERE IT WOULD NOT BE THAT.

AND THEY HAD TO APPROVE, IT WAS ANONYMOUS.

UM, SO IF I NEEDED 10 DAYS AND SOMEBODY ELSE NEEDED FIVE DAYS, BUT WE ONLY HAD, YOU KNOW, 10 DAYS IN THE BANK, LIKE HOW COULD WE DISTRIBUTE THEM EVENLY TO HELP THE EMPLOYEES? UM, BUT ANYWAYS, JUST SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT FOR AN ADDITIONAL OPTION.

UM, THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF TIME THAT ANY EMPLOYEE COULD BE OUT AS WELL.

UM, AND SO NOW THAT WOULD INCREASE OUR SUB BUDGET BECAUSE NOW WE'RE PAYING THEM AND THEN STILL ALLOWING THEM TO BE OUT.

UM, SO I, I THINK IT'S JUST, I WANNA BE TRANSPARENT WITH THAT, THAT THIS IS, IT SOUNDS LOVELY FOR THE EMPLOYEE AND WE'RE TAKING CARE OF THEM, BUT THERE DOES HAVE OTHER IMPACTS TO THAT.

UM, BUT I LIKE PUTTING OUR EMPLOYEES FIRST AND WE'LL ALWAYS ADVOCATE FOR THAT.

BUT JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

IT'S NOT WRITTEN IN THE POLICY, BUT JUST WANTED TO TALK ABOUT THAT.

'CAUSE WE'VE HAD SEVERAL RETIREES THIS YEAR AND THEY'RE LIKE, HOW CAN I GIVE MY TIME BACK TO PEOPLE THAT NEED IT? AND I THINK THAT'S VERY GENEROUS AND KIND, SO JUST FOOD FOR CONVERSATION LATER.

UM, IT'S A ACCRUED, SO WE WOULD LIKE TO JUST FRONT LOAD THAT BECAUSE WE'RE ALREADY DOING IT WITH EVERYTHING ELSE.

UM, AGAIN, JUST TRANSPARENCY.

SOMEBODY COULD COME IN, THEY COULD TAKE THAT TIME OFF AND THEN QUIT AND WE WOULD BE OUT THAT TIME.

AND THEN OUR GOALS FOR NEXT YEAR ARE TO INCREASE MEMBERSHIP.

UM, THIS IS A COMMITTEE THAT CONSISTS OF PARENTS, ADVOCATES, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, AND WE HAVE VERY LOW MEMBERSHIP.

UM, WE HAVE TRIED FOR SEVERAL YEARS TO STAND UP HERE AND ASK FOR MEMBERS .

SO, UM, THAT WOULD BE WHAT OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL IS TO GET MEMBERS.

UM, WE'RE SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR MEMBERSHIP.

A LOT OF OUR MEMBERSHIP, THOSE OLDER STUDENTS AND PARENTS OF STUDENTS WHO ARE AGING OUT, WHICH WE REALLY LIKE AND APPRECIATE THEM.

BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO TRY TO GET SOME PARENTS OF YOUNGER STUDENTS AS WELL, UM, TO TRY TO GROW OUR COMMITTEE.

UM, WE ARE ALSO HAD SOME PARENTS THAT BROUGHT UP A BOOTCAMP, UM, WHERE WE WOULD DO SOME KIND OF TEACHING SESSIONS FOR PARENTS, ESPECIALLY PARENTS THAT ARE NEWER TO SPECIAL EDUCATION TO TRY TO, UM, KIND OF COME ALONGSIDE THEM.

IT CAN BE VERY SCARY TO LEARN ALL THESE NEW ACRONYMS AND DIFFERENT PROCESSES WITHIN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM.

SO IT WOULD KIND OF PARTNER THEM WITH PARENTS THAT HAVE BEEN THROUGH THESE PROCESSES, UM, WITH ELIGIBILITY AND IEPS AND HOW THINGS GO IN THE SCHOOLS.

UM, PC IS A PARENT ADVOCACY, UM, ORGANIZATION WITH THE STATE.

AND, UM, THEY HAVE SOME PREPACKAGED BOOTCAMPS THAT WE MIGHT WORK WITH THEM AS WELL WITH ONE OF THEIR REPRESENTATIVES.

AND WE'RE HOPING TO HAVE THAT, UM, BEFORE OUR MEETINGS.

WE JUST HAD THE WORK SESSION PRESENTATION OF THE FOUR TITLE GRANTS AT LAST WEEK.

UM, AND SO JUST BACK IN FRONT OF YOU FOR FINAL APPROVAL, THE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO THE STATE BY JULY 1ST.

UPDATE TO PROGRAM OF STUDIES TO INCLUDE WORLD GEOGRAPHY MS. BRIGHT.

SO WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS RECOMMENDS CHANGING THE CURRENT NINTH GRADE HISTORY COURSE FROM WORLD HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY TO 1500, WHICH IS AN ANCIENT WORLD HISTORY COURSE TO THE WORLD GEOGRAPHY COURSE.

WORLD GEOGRAPHY IS AN APPROVED VDOE COURSE, UH, WITH STATE PROVIDED SOLS AND MEETS THE GRADUATION REQUIREMENT THAT STUDENTS TAKE A WORLD HISTORY OR GEOGRAPHY, OR BOTH COURSE TO EARN A STANDARD OR ADVANCED DIPLOMA.

AS PART OF THE RECOMMENDATION, STUDENTS IN WORLD GEOGRAPHY WILL COMPLETE THE STATE APPROVED OPTION TO EARN THE HISTORY VERIFIED CREDIT BY COMPLETING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A LOCALLY AWARDED

VERIFIED CREDIT AND REPLACE THE END OF HISTORY SOL TEST AND THE COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR THE WORLD GEOGRAPHY COURSE FROM THE STATE, FROM THE STATE STANDARD.

UM, THE ANCIENT WORLD HISTORY COURSE WOULD NOT GO AWAY FOREVER.

MOST MAJORITY, IF NOT ALL OF OUR NINTH GRADERS ARE CURRENTLY JUST AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED IN ANCIENT WORLD HISTORY.

IF YOU'RE GETTING A STANDARD DIPLOMA, IT'S ACTUALLY A CHOICE.

YOU CAN TAKE WORLD GEOGRAPHY ANCIENT HISTORY, WHICH IS WORLD HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY TO 1500, OR YOU COULD TAKE THE MODERN WORLD HISTORY CLASS, WHICH IS FROM 1500 TO THE PRESENT.

SO YOU HAVE THREE OPTIONS, AND IF YOU HAVE A STANDARD DIPLOMA, YOU ONLY NEED ONE OF THOSE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.

IF YOU'RE GOING FOR AN ADVANCED DIPLOMA, YOU NEED TWO OF THOSE WORLD GEOGRAPHY COURSES.

SO WE HAVE TRADITIONALLY PLACED STUDENTS IN ANCIENT WORLD HISTORY AS THE STARTER COURSE.

WORLD.

GEOGRAPHY AS A WHOLE IS A COURSE OF THE CURRENT WORLD.

IT, THEY'RE LOOKING AT, YOU KNOW, MAPS AS THEY ARE TODAY.

IT'S A REGIONAL, UM, SORT OF FOCUS OF THE CURRICULUM AS IT MOVES ACROSS THE WORLD.

IT TALKS ABOUT, YOU KNOW, HUMAN, HUMAN GEOGRAPHY, MIGRATION, THAT SORT OF THING.

IT'S A MORE, UM, SORT OF A SURVEY COURSE WITH THE IDEA THAT THEN THEY COULD DIVE INTO ANCIENT HISTORY DEEPER OR MODERN HISTORY DEEPER, WHICHEVER THEY CHOOSE.

OR WITH THE WAY OUR SCHEDULE WORKS AT HIGH SCHOOL ON THE FOUR BY FOUR BLOCK, IF THEY WERE SO INCLINED TO TAKE A HISTORY, ALL THREE OF THEM, THEY COULD DO THAT AS WELL.

UM, SO IT'S JUST ANOTHER OPTION, A MORE, I THINK, RELEVANT OPTION THAT IF A STUDENT IS ONLY GONNA TAKE ONE WORLD HISTORY GEOGRAPHY COURSE AT HIGH SCHOOL, IT'S A COURSE THAT IS ABOUT THE CURRENT WORLD WE LIVE IN TODAY.

SO WE WOULD HAVE, YOU KNOW, NINTH GRADERS AND WORLD GEOGRAPHY, THEN 10TH GRADERS COULD PICK BETWEEN ANCIENT MODERN, OR LIKE I SAY, THERE'S, THERE IS ENOUGH BLOCKS IN THE SCHEDULE.

IF SOMEONE IS A HISTORY BUFF LIKE MYSELF, YOU COULD TAKE ALL, YOU COULD TAKE ALL THREE.

SO IT WOULD NEVER COME OUT OF THE PROGRAM.

THE ANCIENT COURSE WOULDN'T COME OUT OF THE PROGRAM OF STUDIES.

IT WOULD JUST KIND OF BE ON HOLD FOR THIS COMING YEAR.

'CAUSE WE JUST WOULDN'T HAVE ENOUGH KIDS TO, TO RUN A COURSE OFFERING OF IT BECAUSE THE NINTH GRADE STUDENTS HAVE TAKEN IT AND THE NEW ONES ARE TAKING WORLD GEOGRAPHY.

I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY IT WAS A, IT WAS A GREAT IDEA.

I, I DON'T KNOW IF WE SHOULD MANDATE IT OR NOT, BUT IT WAS A GREAT IDEA FOR, TO HAVE THAT FROM EVERY SCHOOL TO SEE, JUST KIND OF GET AN OVERVIEW AT THE END FOR EACH COMMUNITY MEMBER.

I'M SURE THE PARENTS THAT READ THEIR OWN, YOU KNOW, FROM WARREN COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL, WERE VERY EXCITED TO SEE HOW IT WAS.

AND I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT, GREAT, UM, INFORMATION EMAIL THAT MAYBE COULD BE DUPLICATED ACROSS THE, THE ENTIRE SYSTEM HERE.

UM, ON THAT END TOO, WE, WE, WE, WE KNOW THAT WE'RE BOUND TO GIVE A SORT OF AN ACADEMIC OR A SCORECARD, UM, UPDATE EVERY ONCE A YEAR.

AND THERE'S A WEBSITE THAT TALKS ABOUT QUAL SCHOOL QUALITY.VIRGINIA.GOV AND APPEARS THAT WE, WE UPDATE OUR INFORMATION ON THERE AND IT'S, IT'S A GOOD INFORMATION PLACE TO GO AND READ ALL ABOUT WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN COMPARISON OR EVEN WITHOUT LOOKING AT ANYBODY ELSE, BUT JUST HAS THE INFORMATION THERE.

I DON'T KNOW WHEN THOSE, ALL THOSE DATES AND STATS COME IN, BUT I THINK IT'D BE GREAT TO HAVE A, A PUBLIC PRESENTATION DURING THE SUMMER WHENEVER WE GET ALL THE INFORMATION JUST HERE FOR OUR OWN SAKE AND FOR THE VIEWER'S SAKE AND FOR OUR DIVISION'S SAKE TO SEE.

WE OBVIOUSLY GET THE INFORMATION FROM SOMEWHERE AND WE, WE UPLOAD IT.

IT'D BE GREAT TO SEE IT ACTUALLY PRESENTED TO, TO US.

JUST ANOTHER SUGGESTION, UH, THE LAST ONE IS LAST, AT OUR LAST MEETING WE TALKED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE SBMA, WONDERING WHETHER, YOU KNOW, WHAT, WHAT WE SHOULD DO ABOUT, UH, POLICY SERVICES TO UPDATE OUR POLICIES THAT WE DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE, THAT WE SHOULD HAVE IS, I THINK WE SHOULD PROBABLY TALK ABOUT IT, SOME VERY FUTURE MEETING TO SAY, IS THIS SOMETHING WE'D LIKE TO DO OR NOT? I THINK IT ONLY, THEY GENERALLY, THEY, THIS, THIS PARTICULAR SYSTEM, THEY RUN FROM JUNE 1ST TO MAY 30TH.

'CAUSE THAT'S WHEN THE NEW LAWS COME INTO IT AND IT COSTS $2,900.

SO IT SEEMS LIKE A, A STEAL FOR WHAT IT IS.

THEY'VE BEEN DOING A GREAT JOB, BUT I THINK WE SHOULD GET THAT ON, ON A AGENDA FOR THE NEAR FUTURE.

UM, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM.

SO I'D LIKE TO MAKE A, A CHALLENGE TO OUR BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, UM, THAT OVER THE NEXT SIX MONTHS, STARTING JULY ONE TO DECEMBER 31ST, I'D LIKE TO SEE THEM BE ABLE TO REPORT, UM, THAT THEY ARE VISITING OUR SCHOOLS, THEY'RE PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES, UM, THEY'RE KEEPING THAT LINE OF COMMUNICATION THAT THEY ARE ALSO TALKING ABOUT OPEN.

UM, I ALSO RECOGNIZE WITH THAT SAME TOKEN THAT THEY NEED TO VISIT SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT, THEY HAVE, YOU KNOW, A LOT MORE, UM, FACILITIES.

SO I DO RECOGNIZE THAT, BUT I'D LIKE TO SEE THEM BECAUSE I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT.

UM, SO, UM, YOU KNOW, AS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HOW WE CAN ALIGN OUR INSURANCE AND EVERY YEAR IT DOES BECOME A BIG DEBACLE WITH WHERE'S THE FORMULA? THERE'S NO FORMULA WITH OUR INSURANCE.

IT'S JUST KIND OF THE WAY THAT IT'S BEEN FOR DECADES BEFORE ANY OF US.

AND SO, UM, MAYBE THAT'S SOMETHING THAT, UM, MS. DRAKE AND MR. VALENTINE OR WHOEVER ELSE WOULD LIKE TO KIND OF TAKE ON THAT MAYBE THERE IS A MORE PHASED PLAN TO START SLOWLY MAKING THOSE STRIDES BECAUSE INSURANCE IS REALLY EXPENSIVE.

AND SO IT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT WE'RE PROBABLY GONNA BE ABLE TO ADJUST IN A ONE YEAR PERIOD, MAYBE THE WAY WE WANT IT.

BUT IF WE HAVE SOME SORT OF PLAN LAID OUT WHERE WE'RE STARTING TO TRANSITION, THAT MIGHT BE SOMETHING WE COULD LOOK AT AS WELL.

UM, I DIDN'T WRITE DOWN YOUR POLICY SERVICE BECAUSE I ACTUALLY ALREADY HAD THAT ON MY, UM, REQUEST HERE THIS EVENING AS WELL.

SO, UM, THAT'S COME UP A COUPLE OF TIMES RECENTLY THAT WE'RE CURRENTLY NOT, WE DON'T HAVE A SERVICE RIGHT NOW THAT'S, THAT'S BRINGING FORWARD NEW POLICIES TO US.

SO WE'RE DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB OF CATCHING UP OUR POLICIES THAT WE HAVE IN PLACE, BUT WE'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO KEEP UP WITH NEW POLICIES AS THEY COME OUT.

AND SO WE'RE ASKED SOMETIMES, YOU KNOW, QUESTIONS ABOUT IT AND WE JUST AREN'T BRINGING THOSE FORWARD.

SO I THINK THAT IS SOMETHING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT AND GET THAT ON THE AGENDA, UM, TO HAVE A PLAN THERE.

OUR ATTORNEYS DOING IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE.

AND SO I THINK IF WE HAVE THAT BASE POLICY AND WE AT LEAST HAVE SOMEONE PROVIDING US WITH THE NEW POLICIES THAT ARE COMING OUT, IF THERE'S SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT, OF COURSE WE'RE ALWAYS GONNA HAVE OUR ATTORNEYS REVIEW ANYTHING LIKE THAT IF WE NEED IT TO BE REVIEWED.

SO THAT'LL BE MY THOUGHTS ON THAT.

AND SO THERE, IT SEEMS LIKE THERE HAS BEEN SOME DISCUSSION THAT, YOU KNOW, THEN IS PRESENTED AS SOMETHING THAT THE REST OF THE BOARD KNOWS AND WE

SO THAT'S PROBABLY MY BIGGEST PRIORITY FOR REQUEST TONIGHT, BUT I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SEE US DO THAT AND I THINK IT'D BE PRETTY EASY TO DO.
